"Shelter" for divorced Italian dads

Reuters, UK, By Shasta Darlington, December 3, 2004

ROME (Reuters) - Italy's first "shelter" for divorced dads will open in the
northern city of Bolzano on Saturday as fathers step up the fight for their
rights in a country long dominated by the Italian "mamma".

Divorced and separated men who have been forced to give up their houses and empty their pockets for child support can apply for one of the five rooms with private bath in the communal home which could soon be copied across Italy.

"We've been working with couples for 20 years and we realised there was a real need for the party who has left the family home and can't afford their own house," said Elio Cirimbelli, president of ASDI, an association that counsels couples in crisis and created the Bolzano pilot project.

"And in the vast number of cases that party is the father." more ...

LYNCHED BY THE SISTERHOOD

By Jeffrey Asher, Professor of "Men's Lives" Emeritus,  Dawson College - Montreal, Quebec, Canada

In autumn 1994, I offered students at Dawson College in Montreal the only course in Canada on Men's Lives. One young woman asked me, "Is this another man-hating course?" I assured her that we would examine men's and women's lives objectively and treat them with equal respect. She smiled and chirped, "I'm in."

Father taught me to respect ladies and that human rights were indivisible. In the 1970s, I lectured on sexual equality of opportunity and equality before the law. Like most men, my navet about feminine politics was sustained by raging hormones.

By 1980, the woman's movement was increasingly co-opted by the Lunatic fringe. Germaine Greer pontificated, "Women have very little idea of how much men hate them men do not themselves know the depth of their hatred." Marilyn French announced, "All men are rapists, and that's all they are ... all men are the enemy." Further incitements to anti-male hatred and violence exuded from Dworkin, McKinnon and their cohort of vicious bigots. They remain required reading in feminist courses, which exclude male faculty or authors, brainwash young women and ostracize young men. This paranoia remains unchallenged by human rights commissions. When Ms. Teacher Goes After Male Pupil

FOX News, U.S.A., By Catherine Donaldson-Evans, February 12, 2005

Female teachers accused of sex crimes against underage male students have been grabbing headlines lately. Many of them are young and beautiful, their stories sordid and intriguing.

But to law enforcement, they're something else criminals who have committed statutory rape against a minor.

This week alone, two cases have hit the news: Cops say one Texas teacher, Kathy Denise White had sex with a 17-year-old, and Tennessee teacher Pamela Rogers Turner had sex with a 13-year-old boy. Read More ..

The Hijacking of Valentines Day

By Jason Mattera, February 14, 2005

Valentines Day. Its that time of the year set aside for husbands and wives, girlfriends and boyfriends, to express their love, commitment, and affection for each other. To feminists on college campuses, however, its a propaganda tool designed to objectify the female body and recite bilious rhetoric. On this day, February 14th, hundreds of womens groups will be performing The Vagina Monologues at our institutions of higher learning as part of the V-Day initiative. Recently, I saw the performance at my own academic institution, Roger Williams University (RWU). Participants in the play asked and answered mind-bending questions such as What does a vagina smell like? and If your vagina could talk, what would it say, in two words? Read More ..

Culture Clash: An East Side Story

Exclusive commentary by Isabel Lyman, The Washington Dispatch, Jan. 21, 2002

The Amherst, Massachusetts school district cancelled "West Side Story" but is allowing "The Vagina Monologues," went Bill O'Reilly's spiel. He was referring to the fact that a performance of the former was supposedly banned by the Amherst Regional High School (ARHS) leadership because it superficially stereotyped Latinos, but the latter is welcome, by school officials, because it is feminist-friendly.

They would also be uncomfortable with the speech that romanticizes an alcohol-fueled sexual encounter between an older woman and a female minor. Read More ..
